To get to Canmore, fly into Calgary International Airport (YYC) and rent a car. The drive from the airport to Canmore is 75 minutes. We recommend you book your flight and rental car early as rates climb and rental cars can sell out during the summer season! If driving isn't your thing, shuttle services like the Banff Airporter run regularly between the airport and Canmore.
Accommodations
We recommend staying in Canmore, a walkable city outside of Banff National Park, and the location of our wedding reception. There are many hotels and vacation rentals available. Book your accommodations ASAP as hotels can fill up quickly in the summer, especially on weekends!
A tip from us: The town of Banff is beautiful, but touristy and pricier, and staying there means an extra drive to reach the rehearsal BBQ, shuttle pickup for the ceremony, and the reception venue — all in Canmore. We've spent time in both towns and Canmore is where you'll want to stay for our wedding. That said, plan to visit Banff — it's home to some of the most iconic sites in the Rockies!
